PDS clients, Bruce & Barb McLoughlin, nominated the Free to Smile Foundation which is the seventh charitable organization selected to receive a donation from the PDS CARES 30 for 30 program. Bruce says, “They perform dental surgeries (many cleft palates etc.) in foreign countries including Central America, Africa and Southeast Asia. 100% of the donations go to charity, as all the oral surgeons and other personnel pay their own travel costs and donate their time three or four weeks a year.” Dr. Bryon Henry along with his wife Stacey Henry co-founded the Free to Smile Foundation in 2008. Bruce added, “While there are other national programs similar to this, the Free to Smile Foundation is local to Columbus, Ohio” and he adds “They make the money go much further than any group I know of.”
Mission Statement: The Free to Smile Foundation is dedicated to supporting and sustaining comprehensive, quality surgical and dental services to poor and underprivileged children and adolescents throughout the world. To this end, our volunteers and partner organizations will provide free surgical, dental and educational care for all that are served by the foundation across the globe.
